An opinion piece in The Conversation by John Violanti, professor of epidemiology and environmental health, looks at the recent police shootings and the murder last week of five police officers and what those incidents mean to the troubled occupation of policing.  “Psychological support and timely interventions also are important to help officers deal with stress and possible biological consequences in the occupation of policing,” he writes. The article also appeared on San Francisco Chronicle, Houston Chronicle, News Pronto, San Antonia Express-News and WKBW-TV.
