Joe Biden navigates politics of son Beau's death

James Campbell, professor of political science, is quoted in an article on CNN about the factors going into Joe Biden’s decision on whether to run for the presidency and the debate over whether he is exploiting his grief over his son Beau’s death for political gain. “I think (his grief) plays to his strengths already, in that he is a fairly empathetic figure and he seems very likeable. The tragedy he has gone through only highlights that,” Campbell said. “But it will be a very short run.” The article appeared in news outlets around the nation, including WMAL Radio in Washington, D.C., WYFF-TV in South Carolina and KNBR Radio in San Francisco.
