Excellus cyberattack may affect a lot more people than insurer estimates, expert says

Arun Vishwanath, associate professor of communication, was interviewed for an article in the Syracuse Post-Standard about the cyber breach of Excellus, an upstate New York health care company whose information for as many as 10 million of its clients nationwide may have been exposed to an attack dating back to 2013.  “Initially, even the companies and agencies themselves don’t know the extent of the breach,” he said.
