Cyber breach hits 10 million Excellus healthcare customers

An article in USA Today about the cyber breach of Excellus, an upstate New York health care company whose information for as many as 10 million of its clients nationwide may have been exposed to an attack dating back to 2013, quotes Arun Vishwanath, assistant professor of communication.  Health care breaches especially are often worse than they initially appear, he said. An article also appeared on Politico’s Morning Cybersecurity, a daily briefing on politics and cybersecurity, Rochester Democrat & Chronicle and WXXI-TV.
