The University at Buffalo Biorepository Program advances discovery and innovation in health care by providing a unique resource of high-quality, highly annotated biospecimens.

About Biorepository Program

Serving as an enterprise-wide resource, the biorepository supports the University at Buffalo community through centralized and standardized services for the collection, processing, management and distribution of biological assets. The biorepository enables critical clinical science research and diagnostic development, as well as the advancement of precision medicine through deep annotation and “big data” integration. It fosters multi-investigator collaborative projects; and strives to facilitate investigator-initiated trials and clinical trial support. Importantly, a University-wide policy will ensure that biospecimens have been collected and stored to meet regulatory compliance.

The UB program is College of American Pathologist (CAP) accredited, implements Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and is Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certified. The facility is a CFR compliant biorepository that manages biosamples suitable for use in any downstream applications with academic, pharmaceutical and biotechnology partners.
