Champions for Change

Students in a classroom.

Champions for Change is a practical, project-based, research-intensive course that explores the role of community engagement in community-based planning and design efforts.

About Champions for Change

In Support of One Region Forward's (1RF) Citizen Planning School, Champions for Change is a semester-long series of workshops that helps community members turn their ideas into actions.

1RF is a regional sustainability initiative in Erie and Niagara counties, and the 1RF Citizen Planning School model is an innovative approach to community engagement that supports community-initiated change.

In partnership with the UB School of Architecture and Planning, Champions for Change supports community-based planning efforts through information sharing and collaborative learning between members of the community, decision makers, professionals and students.

Participation and Eligibility

The program is free and open to students, businesses, community members and entrepreneurs.
