The National Academy of Construction (NAC) recognized Dan D'Angelo (BS '83) for his "significant contributions to the effectiveness of the engineering and construction industry."
Students in associate professor Andreas Stavridis’ reinforced concrete design class had a chance to experience something most undergraduate students do not: seeing the beams they designed and built put to the test.
“Part of it is the practicality. We learn all about theory, but we don’t actually see it put into practice,” says Esteban Orellana, a senior civil engineering student, “this was a good opportunity to actually see it for ourselves.”

A grant, worth over $500,000 awarded to assistant professor Ravi Ranade, will assist in developing superior materials and reviewing the building codes currently used to design protective structures for housing equipment and soldiers.
