Program Description

The Department of Philosophy offers graduate study in most recognized subdisciplines and historical periods, and has been recognized as among the best Anglo-American departments in many of those fields. Graduate study in UB's philosophy department prepares students for carrying out original research in philosophy and fields of applied philosophy, and trains students to be quality instructors. The department is distinguished by a range of special interests and orientations in philosophy, the high quality of instruction, and by the high degree of faculty-student interaction, both in scholarly enterprises and in departmental affairs.
