GEM Fellowship Program

Overview

The GEM fellowship program invests in a competitive American workforce by supporting high-caliber students looking to pursue master's and doctoral degrees in applied sciences and engineering, and matches their specific skills to the technical needs of GEM employer members. Through the fellowship, students receive full financial support and a paid internship. The program has received a Presidential Award for its impact in STEM and has produced over 5,000 leaders in STEM.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be a U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident.
  • Be a science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) major.
  • Have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

In addition to the above requirements:

  • Undergraduate seniors or alumni must apply to at least three graduate programs at GEM member institutions.
  • Students applying to the PhD Engineering and Science Fellowship must be a senior, masters student, or graduate of an accredited engineering or applied science program at the time of application.
