“Giving back creates opportunity for others.”
Bruce Moden, BS ’57, recalls that as a UB student in the 1950s, he was financially strapped but acquired the tools to become a successful pharmacist. Today, his involvement in UB encompasses both giving and participating. He and his wife, Barbara, donated to support a patient assessment room in John and Editha Kapoor Hall*, future home for the pharmacy school. As longtime Willis G. Gregory Society members, they give $1,000+ annually toward students in financial need, like Moden himself once was.
In 2019, the SUNY Board of Trustees revoked the naming of John and Editha Kapoor Hall as well as John Kapoor's honorary degree. More information is available in the university’s News Center.
