The 147,000-square foot facility on UB's South Campus is now home to the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, previously located in Cooke-Hochstetter Hall on the North Campus.

The existing building was stripped down to its original concrete structural frame and rebuilt focusing on the special needs of teaching pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences students. The new building incorporates many green-design features, such as maximizing natural daylight (75 percent of all space in the building will receive natural light) and was built to achieve LEED silver certification.

The building offers a state-of-the-art Pharmaceutical Care and Teaching Center and has improved linkages between the school and the other health sciences schools located on South Campus.

Floors 1 and 2: Education and Administration
The first and second floors house two large lecture halls, two classrooms, the Pharmaceutical Care Learning Center, a Patient Assessment Suite, a model pharmacy, student organizational and meeting spaces, study areas, computer labs, social gathering spaces, offices, conference rooms, apothecary and a Tim Horton's café.

Floors 3 and 4: Research
The third and fourth floors are the main research "hub" for the school. Educational labs, highly specialized labs for pharmaceutical research, sample processing, molecular genetics, bioinformatics and protein therapeutics are housed here. Other types of spaces include a classroom, conference areas, lounges and offices.
