This workshop will review the basic concepts of sample size selection and power. Attendees will learn how to determine the required quantities used in calculations.
Strategies to present and justify sample size in manuscripts, protocols and grant applications will also be discussed. The workshop has the following learning objectives:
1. Understand basic concepts underlying sample size and power calculations
2. Present and justify sample size in manuscripts, protocols, and grant applications
3. Learn to avoid common statistical pitfalls

This workshop series is free and open to all students, fellows, faculty and staff at UB, the Buffalo Translational Consortium and SUNY.
