Classification methods are statistical tools that aim to assign observation units to some pre-specified classes/groups, and these methods constitute an integral part of data mining.

The objectives of this workshop are as follows:
1. Understand the basic concept of classification
2. Overview some well-known classification methods routinely used in modern-day data mining.
