Nearly one year has passed since the identification of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) with no available vaccine at this time. Six vaccines are in progress or are anticipated to be in progress of Phase 3 clinical testing by the end of the year.

World-renowned physician scientist Ann Regina Falsey, MD, will discuss these current COVID-19 vaccine clinical trials. Dr. Falsey is an expert on numerous viral respiratory pathogens including influenza, coronaviruses, parainfluenza viruses and human metapneumovirus. She is a member of the steering committee for the Global Influenza Initiative, the Infectious Diseases Society of America and the American Virology Society. She is currently the lead researcher of a COVID-19 vaccine clinical trial at the University of Rochester Medical Center.
