Developing and implementing sound research studies requires several important steps be undertaken, generally referred to as the scientific method. This workshop will review the basic features of the scientific method including study design and hypothesis formulation.
Choosing an appropriate study design is critical to obtaining the correct information to conduct the specified hypothesis tests. This workshop has the following learning objectives:
1. Understand the principal features of a research proposal
2. Learn the role of the IRB and grant funding agencies in health sciences
3. Tailor proposals to specific designs and funding mechanisms
This workshop series is free and open to all students, fellows, faculty and staff at UB, the Buffalo Translational Consortium and SUNY.
