Excerpt of an illustration from the CTSI's "Sofia Learns About Research Book," featuring a summary of the book and drawwings of books, magnifying glasses, etc.

“Sofia Learns About Cancer Research” explains how clinical trials work for children with cancer and their families. Written by a multidisciplinary team representing UB, Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and Golisano Children’s Hospital, the purpose of the coloring and activity book is to increase awareness among children and their parents about clinical research and how they themselves could be part of medical breakthroughs in Western New York and beyond.

Our team collaborated to develop a story that would be accessible to youth (and even adults) of various cultures, learning and literacy levels with related activities.

Our team of authors included (L to R): Amanda Teo, Hital Patel, Kara Kelly, Teresa Quattrin, and Renee Cadzow.
