As home to one of the nation’s most comprehensive academic health centers, UB integrates the expertise of the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, School of Dental Medicine, School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, School of Nursing, School of Public Health and Health Professions, and School of Social Work alongside the innovative Department of Biomedical Engineering, a joint program of the Jacobs School and the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.

Anchored by the Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI), UB provides the infrastructure and support to accelerate discovery, streamline study activation, and foster collaboration across disciplines and institutions. The CTSI serves as a catalyst, connecting investigators, clinicians, and industry partners to resources that move research efficiently from bench to bedside.

Through strategic partnerships with the Jacobs Institute and the Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center (RPCCC), UB links industry sponsors with world-class clinicians, researchers, and technology innovators. These collaborations enable a seamless, multidisciplinary approach to study design, patient access, and data-driven discovery.

Strengthened by our connections across the State University of New York (SUNY) system, UB provides industry partners with a streamlined entry point to a statewide network of expertise, infrastructure, and patient populations making us an ideal destination for organizations with unique needs or multiple research priorities.

UB, through the Research Foundation for the State University of New York, is dedicated to streamlining the process of negotiating Confidentiality Disclosure Agreements and Clinical Trial Agreements with our industry partners. Our goal is to facilitate the timely start-up of industry-sponsored clinical trials involving our investigators.

We have partnered with more than 20 industry sponsors to create Master Clinical Trial Agreements, which minimize the need to negotiate contract terms for each trial. If you anticipate partnering with us on several studies, we encourage you to contact our Clinical Trial Contract Administrator because such an agreement can accelerate the process between UB and your company.

The Office of Sponsored Projects Services (SPS) is authorized to sign clinical research agreements that determine the terms and conditions for the university and its investigators.

Individual investigators, staff members and departments are not authorized to sign agreements on behalf of UB, its affiliates, the State University of New York, or themselves.
