The Community Health Equity Research Institute, with an award from the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD), provides seed Community Partnership Grants.
These are small pilot grants that will be awarded:
1) To address a community need
2) Toachieve outcomes that are visible to the community
3) To have an immediate positive effect on day-to-day life of the people living in the community
4) To build capacity of community-based organizations that are based in and provide services to neighborhoods in Buffalo.
The Center of Excellence will offer small grants for activities to be completed within one calendar year. Community-based organizations that are based and focus on providing services in Buffalo communities are eligible to apply.
Eligible organizations include churches, start-up businesses, small community non-profits, block clubs, etc. Funding priority will be given to grantees from smaller organizations whose capacity can be enhanced by the grant (e.g. organizations with annual operating budget below $100K, limited staff, etc.).
Applications are on a rolling basis upon nomination from the Community Partnership Grant Committee.
