Abstract Submission Guidelines

Abstract Invitation and Guidelines

We invite community-based organizations, community groups, faculty, trainees, and students to submit abstracts about organizes community programs, initiatives or research aimed at mitigating health inequities in Buffalo and the surrounding regions.

It is not necessary to submit an abstract to attend Research Day. All are welcome.

Timeline:

 Friday, March 20, 2026: Abstracts due (see guidelines below)

        Abstracts will be reviewed by the Research Day Planning Committee 

Friday, April 3, 2026: Notifications of acceptance 

Saturday, April 25, 2026: Research Day

Required for Abstract Submission:

  • Title of abstract
  • First and last name of all authors (note presenter with asterisk)
  • Affiliation(s) of authors (i.e., institution, organization)
  • Description of the problem being addressed, study design OR
  • Description of the program/initiative
  • Partnerships, methods, results
  • Conclusions/impact/lessons learned

Abstracts will be chosen and assigned based on the following criteria:

 1. Potential of the work to address a health inequity and/or social determinant of health

3. Scientific rigor - the strict application of the scientific method to ensure robust, unbiased and trustworthy research findings and meticulous development and/or evaluation of practice initiatives or programs

4.  Partnership between university and community

 

Priority will be given to projects that engage community-based organizations, community groups or community members as partners.
