Fall 2015 Welcome Reception and Annual Awards

This Fall, the Philosophy Department hosted the Welcome Reception and Annual Awards Presentation, September 16, at the Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural Site in Buffalo, NY.

The special event featured a presentation to Elizabeth Felmet by John Beverley on behalf of graduate students recognizing the occasion of her retirement from the department.

The Philosophy Department is pleased to announce the 2014-2015 Awards:

  • The Hare Award for Department Citizenship recognizes John C. Beverly.
  • The Hourani Award for Best Graduate Essay in Ethics recognizes Matthew LaVine.
  • Outstanding TA/RA recognizes a tie between Brian Donohue and Catherine Nolan.
  • The Hare Award for the Outstanding Graduate Essay (not in ethics) recognizes Rasmus Rosenberg Larsen.
  • The Outstanding Faculty Award recognizes Carolyn Korsmeyer.

The Hare Award for Outstanding Department Citizenship was presented to John C. Beverley (left) by UB Philosophy Professor Ryan Muldoon (right).

The 2014-2015 Outstanding Teaching/Research Assistant  Award was presented to Brian Donahue (left) by UB Philosophy Professor Kah Kyung Cho (right). The award was a tie with Catherine Nolan who is now teaching in Dallas, Texas.  

The 2014-2015 Hare Award for Outstanding Graduate Essay (not in ethics) was presented to Rasmus Rosenberg Larsen (left) by UB Philosophy Professor Kah Kyung Cho (right).
