Football

Miami (OH) 43, UB 0

UB ran into a buzzsaw in its final game of the 1999 season, losing to Miami University, 43-0, on Nov. 19.

The Bulls ended their first season in Division I-A in 29 years with a 0-11 record.



Basketball

Men's

The Bulls gave the crowd of 3,336 in Alumni Arena a show Nov. 19, taking Niagara University to double overtime before the Purple Eagles pulled out a thrilling 105-103 win.

UB dropped its second straight game to open the season two nights later with a 71-60 loss to Cornell.

However, the Bulls picked up their first win of the season with an 81-78 victory at New Hampshire Nov. 23.

But the winning streak was short-lived. With two of the team's five starters out with sprained ankles, the Bulls lost to Canisius Saturday night, 78-46.

Women's

Niagara 66, UB 61
UB 78, Wisconsin-Milwaukee 58
UB 59, Rhode Island 57

The Bulls opened their 1999-2000 season with a loss to Niagara University, 66-61, in the opening round game of the Western New York Classic on Nov. 20 at Canisius College.

The Bulls picked up their first win of the season over Wisconsin-Milwaukee, 78-58, on Nov. 24.

The women continued their winning ways on Sunday, taking their home opener with a 59-57 victory over Rhode Island.



Volleyball

Toledo 3, UB 0 (15-9, 15-7, 15-12)
Bowling Green 3, UB 0 (15-7, 15-11, 15-6)

The Bulls closed out the 1999 regular season with losses to Toledo on Nov. 19 and to Bowling Green on Nov. 20.



Swimming

Women's

UB 172, Youngstown 65

UB downed Youngstown State, 172-65, Nov. 20 in its first home meet of the 1999-2000 season. The Bulls captured 10 first-place finishes out of 13 events. Sophomore Dawn Hickey broke the school record and set a new personal-best time in the 500 freestyle (5:00.21).
