Masks, of course, are mandatory for students in Kerry Ring's Modern Dance 4 class.

And each dancer has their own 10-foot-by-10-foot space.

Two studios are used per technique class to reduce density. Half of the students are in one room and half are in another with the instructor — who is Zooming to the other room.

The class welcomed a special guest instructor: dancer and choreographer Robert Moses, who joined via Zoom from San Francisco.

After last semester, when classes were taught remotely, department faculty say this hybrid model is the first step toward returning to fully in-person dance classes.
