Falcon chicks!

Another UB spring tradition has sprung with the arrival of peregrine falcon chicks in the nesting box in MacKay Heating Tower on the South Campus. Two chicks already have hatched, with two eggs to go. Parents Dixie and Yankee have taken up residence in the box for the past several years. They are the second male and female to inhabit the box since it was installed in 2009 by UB Facilities staff working with local officials from the state Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) and the Buffalo Audubon Society.
