Huebner has received worldwide acclaim for his performances of new and traditional music since making his debut with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at age 17. He has been the pianist of the New York Philharmonic since January 2012, and has been featured in works by Lindberg, Stravinsky, Ives, Milhaud and R. Strauss, among others.

From 2001-12, he was a member of Antares, a quartet comprised of clarinet, violin, cello and piano. He has twice been a featured recitalist at the Ojai Festival in California, has performed on the Monday Evening series in Los Angeles, at the Carlsbad Music Festival, Piano Spheres and at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.

In New York City, he has appeared as soloist and chamber musician in Carnegie Hall’s Zankel Hall and Weill Recital Hall, at Miller Theatre at Columbia University, Merkin Concert Hall at Kaufman Music Center, (Le) Poisson Rouge, Roulette and SubCulture.

At UB, he maintains a studio of graduate and undergraduate piano majors and minors, and teaches courses in 20th-century piano music and piano literature. Since fall 2014, he has been a member of the adjunct faculty of The Juilliard School, where he teaches a course in orchestral keyboard performance.

Korean American guitarist/composer Shin has made a tremendous impact on guitar students at all levels since joining the UB music faculty. He will present a classical and electric guitar program at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 4 in Baird Recital Hall, 250 Baird Hall, North Campus.

His program includes his own work “Improvisation” and “Genesee Trains,” as well as Clarice Assad’s “Dancas Nativas,” with the Eastman Guitar Quartet, and Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco’s Concerto No. 1 in D Major, Op. 99, with pianist Haeyeun Jeun.

An adjunct instructor of guitar performance at UB, Shin maintains a busy schedule divided between performing and teaching in a wide variety of musical settings.

As a musician, Shin finds a unique balance between his classical training and deep roots in rock and popular guitar styles, a combination that drives him to seek new modes of expression through performance, improvisation and composition.

As a soloist and chamber musician, he embraces the eclectic demands of the modern musician by performing works in a wide range of styles, including classical standards to inventive contemporary music and his own original works. A frequent collaborator with various musicians and ensembles, he is a current and founding member of the Eastman Guitar Quartet.
