The 24th annual REV-UP Recognition Ceremony and Reception will be held at 2 p.m. May 13 in 102 Goodyear Hall, South Campus, in conjunction with the May meeting of the Emeritus Center.

Emeritus Center members also will install Pat Ennis, Elle Heffner, Anita Miosi and Saeeda Siddiqui as new members of the board of directors.

In addition, the Emeritus Center’s annual Rose Weinstein Award will be presented to Lisa Christian, who will graduate this month with a master’s degree, geriatrics specialty, from the School of Social Work.

Speaking at the meeting will be Krista Goldsmith, senior account manager, Donor Services, American Red Cross. The title of her remarks is “Legacy, Leadership and Volunteerism.”

Goldsmith also will assist in presenting REV-UP members with certificates of appreciation; Leila Baker, REV-UP manager, will recognize representatives from departments benefiting from REV-UP support.

The ceremony will recognize 76 REV-UP members who together contributed 2,460 hours of volunteer service to 24 UB departments from May 2013 through April 2014.

Since the inception of the REV-UP program in March 1990, nearly 71,000 hours of volunteer service have been given to UB by its retirees through the Emeritus Center.

REV-UP (Retired Employee Volunteers-University Program) is a joint program of the Emeritus Center and Wellness and Work/Life Balance.
