“Made of Motion: A Concert of Contemporary Dance” by UB faculty member Melanie Aceto, will take place at 8 p.m. April 4 in the auditorium of the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, 1285 Elmwood Ave., Buffalo.

The performance, part of the gallery’s M&T FIRST FRIDAYS @ THE GALLERY, is free for gallery members and $5 for non-members.

The program features new works, including “Vent,” a solo based on a recent duet with composer and vocalist Esin Gunduz of the group resAUnance; a duet with Mary Sullivan; and a group gesture piece with Buffalo dance icons Beth Elkins, Nancy Hughes and Amy Taravella.

Repertory works include “Bide” (2009), a solo to Mark Olivieri’s “Suite for Jules” performed live by cellist Jonathan Golove and violinist Yuki Lee Numata Resnick, both UB faculty members; “In To Selves” (2013), the duet with Gunduz, first developed as part of a collaborative course last fall in the Department of Music; and Aceto’s signature solo, “Dancer Mad” (2004) to Brahms’ “Hungarian Dance No. 5.”
