A premiere staged reading of “Reunion of a Summer Evening,” a one-act play for two characters with music by Howard R. Wolf, UB emeritus professor of English, will take place at 8 p.m. Oct. 16 in the UB Newman Center, 495 Skinnersville Road, across from the Creekside Village apartments on the North Campus.

The play, which takes place on a deck overlooking Lake Ontario, follows a mother-son conversation that deals with near-end-of-life issues.

The reading, which is free and open to the public, will run 30-40 minutes. Discussion and refreshments will follow.

Performing will be professional actors Joy Scime and Richard Lambert; Michael Lodick is the director.
