Millard Fillmore College and the Department of Family Medicine have partnered with federal Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality to introduce a new certificate program for practice facilitators.

Practice facilitators work with medical practices to help them to evaluate and improve their quality of care. Practice facilitators help improve practices’ clinical and administrative processes through quality improvement methods, team building and best practices.

Practice facilitators also serve as research assistants for either the practice or for a practice-based research network.

The MFC program, designed and developed by national experts, is the first of its kind in the country.

The Web-based program, which begins Sept. 18, features weekly live video and local internships at certified sites.
