Music department offers free concerts

The free concerts presented by the Department of Music are an ideal opportunity to hear great music at no cost.

The third Brown Bag concert of the season will take place at noon on Dec. 3 on the stage in Lippes Concert Hall in Slee Hall, North Campus.

Now in its 13th season, the Brown Bag Series of free, informal concerts presented during the lunch hour allows patrons to catch a glimpse of the kind of programming offered on a regular basis by the Department of Music. Each attendee will receive a voucher redeemable for two complimentary tickets to a more formal concert during the following month.

A number of student performances also are free of charge. The schedule:

  • UB Klezmer Ensemble: Moshe Shulman, director, 7:30 p.m. Dec. 2, Lippes Concert Hall.
  • MusB Recital: Maria Chomicka, piano, 7:30 p.m. Dec. 3, Baird Recital Hall, 250 Baird Hall, North Campus
  • UB Choir and Chorus: Harold Rosenbaum, conductor, 7:30 p.m. Dec. 4, Lippes Concert Hall
  • “On the Edge” Class Performance: 3 p.m. Dec. 5, Baird Recital Hall
  • MM Recital: Steven DeMart, saxophone, 7:30 p.m. Dec. 6, Baird Recital Hall
  • Melanie Aceto/David Felder Class Performance, 4 p.m. Dec. 9, Lippes Concert Hall.
