Notre Dame head football coach Brian Kelly and UB Bulls head coach Jeff Quinn will share stories, talk football and reminisce about their 21 years of coaching together at a Gridiron Conversation being held on May 8 at UB.

The event will take place at 7 p.m. in the Mainstage theater in the Center for the Arts, North Campus.

Quinn is entering his fourth season as head coach at UB. He and Kelly worked together at Grand Valley State, Central Michigan and Cincinnati. At Grand Valley, Quinn was the associate head coach and offensive coordinator. In 2001 under Quinn’s leadership, Grand Valley’s offense set an NCAA record by averaging 58.4 points per game. Kelly and Quinn led the Lakers to back-to-back national championships in 2002 and 2003.

When Kelly was hired as the head coach at Central Michigan, he named Quinn his offensive coordinator. They turned a three-win team into a MAC champion in just three seasons.

The pair had similar success at Cincinnati. In three seasons, the Bearcats compiled a 33-6 record, including a 12-1 record and a trip to the Sugar Bowl in 2009.

Following the 2009 season, Quinn and Kelly parted ways. Kelly was hired as the head coach at Notre Dame on Dec. 10, 2009; Quinn earned his first head coaching job when he was hired by UB on Dec. 22, 2009.
