Twenty-one faculty members joined the medical school in the
latter half of 2012.
Devinalini
Misir, MD, who joined the faculty after completing her
fellowship at Yale.
A clinical assistant professor, Misir specializes in addictions,
behavioral pharmacology, drug abuse, emergency medicine,
maternal-fetal medicine and teratology.
Michael
Adragna, MD, who came to UB after completing his fellowship
at Brown University.
A clinical assistant professor, Adragna is interested in autism
spectrum disorders, teens’ use of social networking websites
and translational medicine.
Annemarie
Mikowski, DO, who joined the faculty after completing her
residency at UB.
Mikowski is a clinical assistant professor.
Biswarup
Ghosh, MD, who joined the faculty in July after completing
his residency at UB.
Ghosh is a clinical assistant professor.
Kathleen
Quinlan, MD, who came to UB in September from Olean General
Hospital.
Quinlan is a clinical assistant professor.
Xiaozhong
Wen, PhD, who joined the faculty after completing his
fellowship at Harvard Medical School and Harvard Pilgrim Health
Care Institute.
An assistant professor, Wen specializes in behavioral medicine,
public health and general preventive medicine.
Jayasree
Nair, MD, who joined the faculty after completing her
fellowship at UB.
A research assistant professor, Nair specializes in
neonatal-perinatal medicine.
Indrajit
Majumdar, MD, who joined the faculty after completing his
fellowship at UB.
Majumdar is a clinical assistant professor.
Jeffrey
Yu, MD, PhD, who joined the faculty after completing his
residency at UB.
Yu is a clinical assistant professor.
Scott
Stewart, MD, who came to UB from the Medical University of
South Carolina.
An associate professor, Stewart has research expertise on
alcoholism and alcohol-related disease. He studies the detection
and treatment of such conditions in medical settings.
Carina Alfaro-Franco,
MD, who came to UB in September from Kaleida Health.
A clinical assistant professor, Alfaro-Franco specializes in
cardiology.
Jyotsna
Bhatnagar, MD, who joined the faculty after completing her
nephrology fellowship at UB.
A clinical assistant professor, Bhatnagar specializes in
internal medicine.
Osman
Farooq, MD, who joined the faculty after completing his
neurophysiology fellowship at UB.
A clinical assistant professor, he has expertise
in neuromuscular disorders, the evaluation and management of
epileptic and non-epileptic seizures, electroencephalography and
electromyography.
Channa
Kolb, MD, who came to UB from Brigham and Women's Hospital
in Boston.
An assistant professor, Kolb researches multiple sclerosis.
Amit
Kandel, MBBS, who joined the faculty in August after
completing his vascular neurology fellowship at UB.
Kandel is a clinical assistant professor.
Taechin
Yu, MD, who came to UB in September from Kaleida
Health.
Yu is a clinical associate professor.
Yijun
Sun, PhD, who came to UB in August from the University of
Florida.
Sun is an assistant professor in bioinformatics.
Joshua
Jones, MD, who joined the faculty after completing his
fellowship at UB.
A clinical assistant professor, Jones has expertise in
orthopaedic surgery. His specialty is hand surgery.
James
Hitt, MD, PhD, who joined the faculty in August after
completing his fellowship at UB.
Hitt is a clinical assistant professor.
