Living a healthy life into one’s 10th decade is the
central focus of this strength. Our goal is to facilitate
discoveries greatly impacting human health.
The science behind living a healthy life is the central
focus of this initiative, involving faculty from the
university’s five health sciences schools. It also
incorporates a holistic approach to research, involving areas
such as architecture, planning and social work.
We are focusing on three major areas: aging and development;
metabolism, obesity and diabetes; and brain and behavior. Health
and Wellness Across the Lifespan is working to further establish UB
as a national hub for health sciences research.
