As an urban public research university, UB possesses strengths
across its various units including its ability to marshal
collaborative expertise in research, teaching and service that can
positively impact local, national, and even global
constituencies.
UB researchers involve communities as partners in creating and
disseminating research results. With communities involved in
framing the research questions, research results can be more
effectively disseminated and practices and policies changed.
Community based research can focus on a number of things, including
but not limited to:

- Urban Development and Change
- Environmental Stewardship
