In addition to offering competitive fellowships for UB faculty researchers, CEPP supports and advances community-based research and scholarship by UB researchers by providing a forum for research presentations.
In 2014-15, CEPP has organized a new series Research on
Aging: People, Policy, and Practice in conjunction with the
Institute for Person-Centered Care and the Institute for Innovation
Aging Policy and Practice, UB School of Social Work. This
series of conversations on aging-related issues will be held on
Thursday afternoons in the fall of 2014, and we will meet to hear
about new and ongoing research, promising strategies, and
opportunities for collaboration. This series is designed for
researchers, service providers, community advocates and
others. These events will be held on October 2 featuring
Diane Bessel, October 20 with Dr. Louanne Bakk, and
November 20 with Dr. Bruce R. Troen (flyer

Our 2013-14 Community Scholar-in-Residence, Michael Gates, Director, Emergency Management, Seneca Nation of Indians, and Dr. Chris Renschler, UB Geography, cohosted presentations and panel discussion on Wednesday, April 23, on "Assessing Community Resilience for Policy- and Decision-Making: The Cattaraugus Creek and the Seneca Nation of Indians" together with John Whitney, District Conservationist, US DDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service, and students (flyer with details here).
A Research Workshop on June 4 focused on "Conducting Qualitative Research Interviews" with Dr. Linda S. Kahn and Dr. Bonnie M. Vest, UB Family Medicine, and Dr. Elisa M. Rodriguez, Roswell Park Cancer Institute (see here for details).
