Solar energy to power student apartments
The New York Power Authority has awarded UB $7.5 million to construct a 1.1-megawatt solar-energy array on the North Campus that will generate clean energy directly from the sun for students living in the university’s apartment complexes. May 13, 2009 -

- UB Moving 50 Employees into Downtown Buffalo, Freeing Up Space for Expanded School of Nursing UB plans to move several of its key fund-raising offices into the Jacobs Executive Development Center as the university continues to increase its presence in downtown Buffalo. - UB Hopes to Bring Amherst Town Board to the Planning Table While the University at Buffalo continues to work closely with the Town of Amherst to plan for the development of land along its campus edge, the State University of New York, on behalf of UB, today filed a lawsuit seeking to annual action by the Amherst Town Board and the town's Zoning Board of Appeals to rezone a 22-acre site on Rensch Road for an apartment complex for college students, a use that would be contrary to the town's own master plan.
