Framing UB Guidelines
In August 2007 we launched a process to create a comprehensive plan for the development of all of our campus locations – North, South, and UB Downtown – to accommodate UB’s ambitious plans for growth and improvement. In the coming years we intend to grow our student enrollment by ten thousand students, double faculty research activity, stimulate new interdisciplinary research, and raise UB to greater prominence overall.
Framing UB is a photo and video dialog intended to support the planning process. Members of the university community are invited to reflect UB’s campuses through their own eyes and in their own words. The planning process continues and so does Framing UB.
Show us. Tell us.
What you show and tell is helping us understand better how to plan for the future of our university in all of its locations.
Photographs: Send us your digital photographs and your written commentary. Submit a single photo or an ensemble of up to five related photos with your commentary of up to 100 words.
Videos: Send us your short video with voice-over commentary. Submit a video of up to two minutes in length showing and telling how you see the places you care about at UB.
Subject matter: Shoot pictures of anything that has to do with one of UB’s three campuses, one of its other facilities, or anything about life at UB. Think about the places where you live, study, go to class, socialize, work, play, rest, travel, people-watch, or take contemplative refuge on campus. Think about the big picture and the details, the mundane and the profound. Show us places you love and the places you don’t.
Submission: Photos and videos must be submitted by a member of the UB community using their UBit name. All photos and videos must be uploaded to the Building UB submission form accessible from the MyUB my opinion channel or the Building UB site.

Judging: Staff and consultants of Building UB – the Comprehensive Physical Plan will determine the chosen images and commentary based on technical skill, artistic merit, and critical clarity. The decisions of the judges are final.
Rights: All submissions become the property of the University at Buffalo for use in the Comprehensive Physical Plan process and other related purposes.
Publication: Chosen submissions will be available through MyUB and the Building UB site. There will also be a final publication of all the selected images in a format to be determined.
