South Campus
The Allen Hall Gateway
The Allen Hall Gateway project offers an opportunity to create a bridge between the local community and campus population. Last year, the glass curtain wall on the front and back of the building were replaced at a cost of $4.2 million, transforming its image, and creating a welcoming new entrance. Planning is now underway to refashion the facility as a portal to the university or a “community union.” Allen Hall is currently home to WBFO radio station, the Center for Community Partnerships, and a 150 seat theater. A second phase of work will address improvements to the indoor theater and new landscaping to connect the facility to Main Street and the rest of campus.
