The primary objective of the Bioinformatics Business Planning initiative is to build a comprehensive plan for the Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics and Life Sciences with the following components:
- Programmatic and strategic objectives
- Funding and budget model
- Organizational design and governance structure
- Operational plan
- Facility / capital plan
- Commercialization
- Economic forecast
- Resource Strategies
Next Steps
- Team Leaders will arrange and schedule an initial meeting of their sub-group
- Each team will meet separately and commence developing their recommendations
- The teams will document their progress and recommendations
- We will reconvene the full group in 30 days for a progress report and review of the development efforts

Leadership and Oversight
Objectives
- Provide thought leadership and direction for the overall effort to build a comprehensive business and operations plan for the COE in Bioinformatics
- Engage various subject mater experts (internal and external) to help develop the plan
- Remove any barriers or obstacles that prevent the sub teams for achieving their objectives
- Provide support to the sub-teams as necessary
- Monitor progress of each of the sub-teams
