The primary objective of the Bioinformatics Business Planning initiative is to build a comprehensive plan for the Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics and Life Sciences with the following components:

  • Programmatic and strategic objectives
  • Funding and budget model
  • Organizational design and governance structure
  • Operational plan
  • Facility / capital plan
  • Commercialization
  • Economic forecast
  • Resource Strategies
Next Steps
  • Team Leaders will arrange and schedule an initial meeting of their sub-group
  • Each team will meet separately and commence developing their recommendations
  • The teams will document their progress and recommendations
  • We will reconvene the full group in 30 days for a progress report and review of the development efforts

Leadership and Oversight
Objectives
  • Provide thought leadership and direction for the overall effort to build a comprehensive business and operations plan for the COE in Bioinformatics
  • Engage various subject mater experts (internal and external) to help develop the plan
  • Remove any barriers or obstacles that prevent the sub teams for achieving their objectives
  • Provide support to the sub-teams as necessary
  • Monitor progress of each of the sub-teams
