- Planning for a Climate Neutral University On October 21st more than 200 faculty, staff, students, and others met to help chart a path toward climate neutrality for the University at Buffalo. Western New York members of the New York State Senate and Assembly will introduce a new bill that would help UB achieve the objectives of UB 2020, the university’s strategic plan to grow by 40 percent, create new jobs for the region and increase its annual local economic impact from $1.7 billion to $3.6 billion. - UB's economic impact expected to double The university’s impact on the Western New York and New York State economies is expected to increase to 3.6 billion by the year 2023-24, according to a study by the UB Regional Institute. This represents more than twice the amount pumped into these economies in the 2006-2007 fiscal year.
