Strategic HR Implementation Team
Charge
- The Strategic HR Implementation Team is charged with designing an overall plan for creating a:
- training and development unit
- compensation and benefits unit
- strategic recruiting advisory function
- The plan will include an outline for the vision and mission for each unit along with detailed descriptions of the organizational structures, roles, responsibilities, staffing levels, compentencies, tools, systems, measures and processes necessary to build and operate each new unit.
- The team will assess the costs and benefits for each of the newly proposed strategic units and evaluate the timeline required for building such units.
Progress through January 2006
The Strategic HR Implementation Team is nearing completion of its work. The Team:
- researched best practices in strategic human resources at other universities and identified a handful using cutting edge techniques including College Park, University of Maryland
- visited with the senior human resources team at College Park to:
- learn how they implemented a strategic transformation of their own
- garner insight on how this might apply at UB
- created job descriptions for the positions in Strategic HR and is the process of reviewing the classification of each
- will make recommendations to the UB 2020 Executive Committee in the near future and transition from the planning stage to the implementation stage.
