Progress and Updates
- Planning for a Climate Neutral University On October 21st more than 200 faculty, staff, students, and others met to help chart a path toward climate neutrality for the University at Buffalo. The forum was an opportunity to explain the American College and University Presidents Climate Commitment (ACUPCC), to which UB is a signatory, to introduce the UB Environmental Stewardship Committee (ESC), which has been charged with implementing the commitment, and to present initial work toward producing a “climate action plan.” March 6, 2009
- Taking the next step toward sustainability In signing the American College and University Presidents Climate Commitment in March 2007, President John B. Simpson committed UB to creating by September 2009 a plan describing how the university will go “climate neutral,” reducing or offsetting all of its greenhouse gas emissions. Contributing their voices to this goal, more than 200 faculty, staff and students took part in the UB Sustainability Forum, “Planning for a Climate Neutral Campus,” held yesterday in the Student Union Theater.
