The South Campus child care center has been fully renovated,
improving and expanding services to children of UB personnel and
students.
The UB community dedicated a fully-renovated UB Child Care
Center facility on South Campus in September 2010, celebrating a
project that made two decades-old “temporary” buildings
permanent with a new roof, walls, windows—and a corridor to
replace the tunnel that previously connected one building with the
other. The facility provides new classrooms, bright spaces, safe
places and room to play outside for about 90 infants, toddlers and
preschoolers. With renovation of the North Campus child care
facility, the $7 million project has reduced waiting lists for
parents—about half of whom are students. Located on Bailey
Avenue, the new building features a bright, modern exterior. The UB
Child Care Center is operated by a not-for-profit corporation
governed by faculty, staff and students.
