The new facility improves and expands capacity to serve the
needs of students, faculty and staff with young children.
The UB community dedicated an expanded and renovated UB Child
Care Center facility on North Campus in September 2010, celebrating
a project that converted a series of trailers into a permanent
building and doubled the size of the center. The new facility
provides new classrooms, bright spaces, safe places and room to
play outside for nearly 140 infants, toddlers and preschoolers.
Along with renovation of the South Campus child care facility, the
$7 million project reduced waiting lists for services for children.
About half of the center’s children are those of students.
Located on the shore of Lake LaSalle, the new building features a
dramatic awning to shelter outdoor play areas. The UB Child Care
Center is operated by a not-for-profit corporation governed by
faculty, staff and students.
