From the West (Cleveland, Erie, Chicago)

Take the I-90 East until you reach the I-290 (past the Buffalo airport exit). Take the I-290 West (toward Niagara Falls) to Exit 5B (Millersport Highway, Route 263). Get off exit and merge into traffic. Go through first light (Marriott is on your left), and merge into right lane. Enter campus at the Flint Road exit.

From the East (Rochester, Albany, New York City)

Take the I-90 West until you reach the I-290 (just past tolls, follow State University signs). Take the I-290 West (toward Niagara Falls) to Exit 5B (Millersport Highway, Route 263). Get off exit and merge into traffic. Go through first light (Marriott is on your left), and merge into right lane. Enter campus at the Flint Road exit.

From the Buffalo Niagara Airport

Exit the airport following the signs leading to Route 33 West toward Buffalo. Route 33 (Kensington Expressway) begins at the West Gate of the Buffalo Niagara Airport. Take Route 33 West to the I-90 East to the I-290 West. Take the I-290 West (toward Niagara Falls) to Exit 5B (Millersport Highway, Route 263). Get off exit and merge into traffic. Go through first light (Marriott is on your left), and merge into right lane. Enter campus at the Flint Road exit.

From the South (Pittsburgh)

Take I-79 North to Erie, PA. Take the I-90 East until you reach the I-290 (past the Buffalo airport exit). Take the I-290 West (toward Niagara Falls) to Exit 5B (Millersport Highway, Route 263). Get off exit and merge into traffic. Go through first light (Marriott is on your left), and merge into right lane. Enter campus at the Flint Road exit.

From the North (Canada)

Take the QEW south to St. Catharines. Follow Highway 405 to the Queenston-Lewiston Bridge and continue east over the bridge (toll) into New York state. Once across bridge take the I-190 South. Follow I-190 South until you reach the I-290 East and proceed until Exit 5B (Millersport Highway, Route 263). Get off exit and merge into traffic. Go through first light (Marriott is on your left), and merge into right lane. Enter campus at the Flint Road exit.

If taking the QEW to the Peace Bridge, take the 190 North to the I-290 East and follow the same directions as above paragraph.

Special Event Parking–Alumni Arena, Center for the Arts and UB Stadium

There are many parking lots around Alumni Arena, the Center for the Arts and UB Stadium. Parking is generally available and posted for most cultural and athletic events after 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, and all day on weekends. Parking attendants may be available to assist with reserved and special permit parking for most events. A nominal fee may apply. 

Please note: 

  • Event parking is generally limited to lots immediately adjacent to the Center For the Arts, UB Stadium and Alumni Arena. 
  • The Parking and Transportation website lists service advisories for lot changes/restrictions due to special events or construction. 
  • For larger special events, tune in to 1620AM for updates and information on reserved parking and traffic directions.

Coventry Entrance–For Closer Parking

Use the Coventry Entrance (off of Millersport Highway) for the most direct access to events at Alumni Arena, the Center for the Arts and UB Stadium. 

Hamilton Entrance–To Avoid Traffic

To avoid most traffic after events, park in Furnas Lot, Jarvis A + B Lots, or Ketter Lot. To access these lots, enter campus from Rensch Road (off of Sweet Home Road), or use the Hamilton Entrance (off the John James Audubon Parkway). Please note that it is a short walk (approximately 7-9 minutes) from these lots to Alumni Arena, the Center for the Arts and UB Stadium.

Accessibility/Special Needs Accommodations

Parking for persons with disabilities is available in the Slee B Lot during most events. You may access this lot via Coventry Road, which is off of Augspurger Road. The Coventry (front) entrance of Alumni Arena or the Center for the Arts is the preferable entry point for guests with special needs.

The Distinguished Speakers Series provides an ASL interpreter for all lectures. The Alumni Arena also offers assisted listening devices.  The device can be used with your own headset or you can borrow a headset or induction coil (t-coil) that can be used with most hearing aids. Upon arrival at the arena, simply ask an usher for use of the device.

We also provide accommodations for individuals who have mobility issues; and other special needs.

Your safety is our first priority. As you arrive, you will be greeted upon entry by security personnel who will conduct a speedy inspection of all bags, purses and containers you may have with you. You may also be asked to unfasten any outerwear. Because of these security measures, please allow yourself a few extra minutes.
