How to Apply

Students must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents and be enrolled as undergraduate students in a college program through Fall 2018. Students from under-represented minority groups and non-research focused institutions are strongly encouraged to apply.
  1. Complete the online application form.
  2. Submit copies of transcripts. A copy of your transcript (unofficial is fine) must be uploaded to the online application.
  3. Provide 2 letters of recommendation. Applicants must provide 2 letters of recommendation from college/university faculty. You will list your referees in the application and they will be sent instructions on how to provide letters once you submit your online application.
  4. Upload your resume. Resumes are uploaded into the online application and should include (1) all post-secondary educational institutions attended with dates, (2) research and teaching experience or other university or science activities (prior research experience is not a requirement), and (3) any other information thought to be relevant to the application.
  5. Write a brief personal statement. Personal statements should describe academic and research goals and long-term career objectives. Applicants should clearly articulate what they hope to get out of the program and how they believe the program will help them reach their short- and long-term goals.
