Recreation and ResFIT will be partnering with Kenpo Self-Defense this fall to offer empowerment-based self-defense seminars.
Gain confidence, self-awareness, and self-defense strategies and techniques to handle yourself in most situations. The seminars will focus on strategies and techniques to analyze different situations, with the understanding each situation is unique. Awareness makes up 90% of self-defense, the remaining 10% is physical technique. One benefit of learning self-defense is increased personal safety and confidence, along with improved fitness, situational awareness, and the development of valuable life skills.
What to bring to a seminar: Please wear clothes that allow movement, sneakers, something to write on and write with, water bottle and towel or mat to sit on (personal preference.)
We are offering seminars at both North and South Campuses, exclusively for UB undergraduate students. Each student can attend up to two seminars, with a limit of 16 spots per seminar. Attendance is free of charge, but you do need to sign-up in advance.
