The University at Buffalo has named Liesl Folks, an internationally renowned expert in nanotechnology and magnetism, as the next Dean of the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at the University at Buffalo. Folks’ appointment began shortly before the start of the spring 2013 semester.
Charles F. Zukoski, Elio Eliakim Tarika Chair of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, has been named provost and executive vice president for academic affairs at UB following an international search. His appointment was effective summer 2012.
Nancy L. Wells has been named vice president for development and alumni relations at the University at Buffalo. She will lead the university’s fundraising efforts and its engagement with the more than 218,000 alumni worldwide. Her appointment was effective March 12, 2012.
Laura E. Hubbard, associate vice president for budget and finance at the University of Oregon, has been named vice president for finance and administration at UB. Her appointment took effect Feb. 27, 2012.
Daniel J. “Danny” White, senior associate athletic director at the University of Mississippi, has been named the new director of UB’s Division of Athletics. His appointment took effect in June 2012.
