The ISTL Education program aims to train globally competitive graduates who are well rounded technically and managerially, and who intend to assume leadership positions in transportation and logistics.
Transportation and logistics have emerged as major sectors of the economy. A basic thrust in the program is sustainability, with an emphasis on environmentally friendly and socially responsible technologies and practices in all segments of activity.
ISTL is planning to offer a new interdisciplinary Master's degree in Sustainable Transportation and Logistics. The unique aspect of the Master’s degree is its focus on a holistic educational approach that combines managerial skills with engineering analytical and problem-solving techniques. The program is jointly offered by the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) and the School of Management (SOM), thus offering students a truly trans-disciplinary program, that is distinct to UB.
We are currently seeking to register the new degree program with New York State, and hope to launch it in the Fall of 2015. Students will be able to pursue an M.S. degree and/or a graduate certificate in Sustainable Transportation and Logistics. For more information, please contact the ISTL Director, Professor Adel Sadek.
