What mentoring means to me:

I believe that my job as a mentor is to empower students, trainees and junior colleagues. This involves helping those I am mentoring to learn what they need to know, to support and guide them as they master various challenges along the way, and to instill in them the confidence that they will need to pursue their interests and ambitions.

Topics I am willing to discuss with students:

Academic Culture

  • Decoding and demystifying academic culture and norms.
  • Uncertainty about staying in grad school.

Personal Experiences

  • Caregiving for children.
  • Caregiving for other loved ones.
  • Experiences related to being a woman.
  • Experiences related to mental health and/or abilities.
  • Experiences related to sexual and/or gender minority status.
