Medical School Building Fund

Alive and Well

The years between now and 2017 are the most important for the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences since the school was founded.

In 2017 we will open our doors to the incoming class of 2021 in an all-new school on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus. The new building—and its students and faculty—will be connected to the Buffalo General Medical Center, the new John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital, Roswell Park Cancer Institute and the school’s new Clinical and Translational Research Center.

We are also growing. By 2017, we will have increased the size of our faculty by 100 and increased the size of the entering class from 140 to 180. This adds clinical services and training programs not now available in Buffalo and addresses the local and national need for more U.S. medical school graduates.

To build a completely new medical school is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Embrace the challenge.

Your gift will help build the school

We are raising $200 million for the new medical school from generous alumni and friends. We’ve made great progress; help us get to the finish line by January 2018! Principal naming opportunities that remain include the building itself, the library, laboratories, classrooms, learning stations and lounges. Every gift counts.
